Greenville Theatre Celebrates 100 Years of Storytelling |
A Century of Art, Love, and Home in the Upstate |
Greenville Theatre is marking a monumental milestone: its 100th season.
Established in 1926, this institution has been a cornerstone of the Upstate's cultural landscape.
To commemorate this centennial, the theatre has curated a season that honors its rich history while embracing the future.
Producing Artistic Director Max Quinlan expressed, "Season 100 will be our biggest, most ambitious season yet."
He emphasized that this season is a gift to the community, presenting both beloved past productions and exciting new initiatives.
The centennial season, themed "Art, Love, & Home," features a diverse lineup.
Highlights include the Tony Award-winning musical A Chorus Line (September 12–28, 2025), the classic comedy Clue: On Stage (October 17–November 2, 2025), and the heartwarming Irving Berlin’s White Christmas (November 28–December 21, 2025).
Additionally, the theatre introduces the "GT Off-Broadway Series," offering more intimate productions like Red (August 28–31, 2025) and a symphonic concert of Sunday in the Park with George (January 22–25, 2026).
A special concert, Greenville Theatre: 100 Years of Stories, will run from October 3–5, 2025, featuring 100 performers from the theatre's storied past.
Reflecting on its journey, the theatre has evolved from the "Greenville Little Theatre" to its current prominence.
With attendance growing from 24,000 to over 82,000 annually, it stands as the Upstate's oldest and largest locally producing professional theatre company.
As the curtain rises on this landmark season, the Greenville Theatre continues to inspire, educate, and entertain, celebrating a century of storytelling in the heart of the Upstate. |
