Fluor Field: A Catalyst for Greenville's West End Renaissance |
From baseball to business, Fluor Field fuels Greenville's growth |
Fluor Field, home to the Greenville Drive, has become a cornerstone of Greenville, South Carolina's revitalized West End.
Since its 2006 debut, this stadium has not only hosted High-A Minor League Baseball but also spurred significant economic development.
Over the past decade, Fluor Field has attracted approximately 500,000 visitors annually, contributing to an estimated $300 million economic impact on the region.
This influx has led to the issuance of 433 new business permits within a half-mile radius and approximately $277 million in new business construction.
Recent developments underscore Fluor Field's role as a catalyst for growth.
In 2024, the two-story music venue Trueline is set to open nearby, featuring a 1,700-capacity main hall and a 400-capacity intimate performance room.
This addition aims to transform Greenville's music scene and further energize the West End.
Additionally, the Markley + Main project has broken ground adjacent to the stadium.
Slated for completion by summer 2027, this six-story development will offer 277 luxury apartments and 10,700 square feet of retail space, enhancing the area's residential and commercial appeal.
Corporate investments have also flourished.
In 2023, Milliken & Company unveiled Milliken Plaza at Fluor Field, a dedicated space celebrating the company's community impact and enriching the fan experience.
Similarly, Illumifin, a technology services firm, established its headquarters adjacent to the stadium, reflecting the area's growing appeal to diverse industries.
Fluor Field's influence extends beyond business.
Events like the annual Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering Night introduce students to career opportunities in these fields, fostering a skilled workforce for the future.
As Greenville's West End continues to evolve, Fluor Field remains at the heart of its transformation, blending the love of baseball with community growth and economic vitality. |
