Local Hero Demonstrates Dedication to Community Safety |
Greenville's own Spider-Man recently sprang into action at Falls Park, rescuing two individuals stranded on the waterfall.
The 18-year-old, known for his downtown patrols and community engagement, was present at the right moment to assist those in need.
Recalling the incident, he shared, "So, I saw one of them almost slip and fall, and I was like, all right, this is time to go. And I booked it over there and I jumped over some rocks to get over there. And thankfully there was an indent to where I could put my feet like this and prop myself up. And then they grabbed my wrist, and I pulled them up,"
Beyond such rescues, Greenville's Spider-Man dedicates his time to picking up litter, interacting with fans, and monitoring his EMS scanner for emergencies. "I tune into my EMS scanner, noting which streets require attention," he explained.
Certified in CPR, he responds to individuals experiencing breathing difficulties, providing aid until emergency services arrive. "My intention is to help the people of Greenville, protect and honestly spread kindness along the way," he stated.
Active on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, he describes himself as the "friendly downtown Spider-Man." Recent incidents, including a robbery at a local store and reports of downtown altercations, have led him to shift his patrols to nighttime hours.
His unwavering commitment to the community continues to inspire and reassure residents of Greenville. |
